It's A Boy!

So the days have just been flying by since the Apple Harvest Festival and I can't believe that I am just now getting a chance to blog. First and foremost, I had my ultrasound on Friday and found out that we're having a little boy. We were really hoping for a girl but I think that we're both still excited to have a boy. As long as I have a healthy baby I really don't care if it's a boy or a girl. This just gives us something to hope for next time :) Anyway, our families are super excited and the quest to find cute boy things begins. I think I have a small army of people out there crawling the stores and garage sales looking for things and the funny thing is that I'm not one of them. I really haven't looked at any baby stuff aside from the day I went with my mom to Babies R Us to start my registry. Maybe I'll start looking when I'm six months or so.

The Apple Harvest Festival went well for me. I didn't do the sales that I was hoping for but I still did well. I also got a lot of custom orders which I have been working on filling and why I haven't been blogging. I just got a custom order today for a beach wedding album and I'm pretty excited to get working on that. I love to do wedding albums. I should be working on mine, but that's a topic for another post.

I'll conclude with a few pictures of our little Noah.

Two More Days

I've got just two more days until this festival kicks off. I'm sure this will totally shock you, but I'm nowhere near where I'd like to be. I do have a friend coming over tonight to help out so I've got to plan for some things for her to do. I'm sort of a control freak when it comes to my things though so I only really have a few things that I can let her do. The problem with just being like, okay this album in completely cut and I need to glue the photo mats together and put them on the pages, could you do that? Is that they have to be straight and I already have a vision so I want them to be in certain places, etc. If it doesn't end up exactly as I had envisioned then I feel like it's not as good as it could be and then I don't want to sell it. It's stupid, I know, my mom tells me. But my friend helping tonight is an engineer so she SHOULD be good with adhereing things straight, lol.

I think that I officially popped out the other day and am now showing. I was doing the grocery shopping and my stomach muscles were really hurting. It was like a pulsating pain that kept getting stronger. When I finished up at the grocery I had to run to Michael's to pick up some cardstock and while I was in there it was really hurting. I kept thinking that I didn't know why it was hurting so much. I haven't even gone to the gym this week. Then all the sudden it was like my muscles just gave way and out popped a little stomach. And then there was no more pain. I think my body was having a little tug-a-war. My muscles didn't want to expand but the baby was demanding more room. The baby won. So I officially made it to 15 1/2 weeks before I got a pooch.

Here are some pictures of another chipboard album that I finished yesterday. It's definitely a glitter lover's dream. I've got two more that just need their finishing touches today and tons of tins to start sealing this morning. And the list goes on.....

Robots!

I worked with robots today and I did two albums that I think came out pretty darn well. The first one is an accordion album similar to one that I had done several months ago. The hardest part of that album was mounting all the die-cuts onto chipboard and cutting them out so that I could pop them up on pop dots.

The second one was the second bound album that I've made myself. I purchased my bind-it-all months ago and have just gotten around to using it. The album is about 5.5"x7.5" and holds 7 photos. I had a hard time figuring out the embellishments for the album though because there just aren't a lot of great embellishments for boy albums other than for like baby boy albums. But all in all I am happy with the album. There are two pages that I feel like don't have enough embellishments but I'll have to sit on it for a day or two and revisit it.

Prepping For Apple Harvest

So my next big festival is in just over a week and I'm working like crazy getting stuff ready. I've come to what for me is the hardest part of making albums, adding titles and themes. I can do and decorate the albums just fine, but when it comes to making a decision on titles as well as including any quotes, it just takes me forever. I get so nervous about what to call the album and what to include in it because I don't know what kind of pictures the person may or may not have in mind for the album. Now, have I ever had an album that really didn't sell? Not really. If it didn't sell at one show, then it usually sold at the next. But still, it's very hard to make that decision to lock an album into a theme. I semi-finished three albums today and two have themes but the third one I just can't seem to get a hold on. So here they are
For this first one, I had bought this cowboy-ish paper which isn't really up my alley but I thought that it was pretty and there are a lot of people with and that ride horses in my area so I decided to try out a horse album. The front reads Crazy for Horses and the inside has two quotes about horses.

This next album was done with paper that I just love and have about used to death. I had in mind a little girls album so I used lots of crystals on the inside. I was very pleased with how the crystals on the flower pull-outs turned out. I think they look really cool. On the front I just put Little Lady on the tab and three rhinestones on the cover because I thought the paper was so pretty that I didn't want to cover it up.

And here is the one that I can't decide what it's theme should be. It's obviously for someone who really isn't into the whole really pink and girly stuff. I can see someone using it to put pictures of their sister and them in or of them and their mom perhaps. But what should the cover read? I don't know. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It's Been Awhile

Wow, I can't believe how long it's been since I updated my blog. A lot has happened and I just haven't gotten around to getting back into the swing of blogging. Isaac and I went to Hawaii at the end of July. Isaac was there for two weeks and I joined him for the last week. We got to see our old friends and it was just a really great, relaxing time. It felt so good to be "home." We were both sad to have to come back.

Then we found out that I was pregnant so that was exciting. I've been really blessed so far in that I really didn't have much morning sickness. I did have a couple of weeks where I was just drained and pretty much slept the entire day but other than that it has been smooth sailing. I've completed 13 weeks and we should be finding out the sex of the baby in another 4 weeks. Well, that's if the baby decides to cooperate. We went last week to hear the heartbeat and that baby was cruising in there. The midwife was having a hard time keeping the thing where we could hear the heartbeat. The baby was going to left, to the right, then up, now down. It's a swimmer.

My parent's came to visit this weekend and we ran around so much. I'm so pooped so I'm glad they left today. We went to DC on Sunday and did a bunch of the museums and let me just tell you that I could barely walk yesterday. I'm still sore today!

Now I'm on to getting ready for my next craft show on the 20th and 21st. I'm not nearly ready but I'm working very quickly and realizing that I can only do what I can do. It must be the wisdom that comes with having a baby :)
